This information is useful in assessing whether such components may constitute effective ignition sources in the presence of explosive atmospheres; in this case, the assessment of explosion risk &#8211; ATEX is based on the comparison of the measured surface temperatures with the self-ignition temperature of the flammable substances that determined the classification of hazardous areas for the formation of explosive atmospheres &#8211; ATEX in which the mechanical components are located.
